Do one or both:

Interpretive "review"
Choose one work in the MFA thesis exhibition in the museum that interests you in some way. Respond to the following:

• Describe the work, its elements... what do you see? This requires only a physical description, no metaphorical conclusions.

• Then consider content, what metaphors or meaning can you draw from the work?

• What issues that you encountered in the class surface in the work?

Evaluative "review"
Choose a different work in the MFA thesis exhibition that also inspires a strong reaction. Respond to the following:

• Describe the work, its elements... what do you see? This requires only a physical description, no metaphorical conclusions.

• Then consider content, what metaphors or meaning can you draw from the work?

• Come to a judgment about the work. Do you believe the artist's intent is clear (or does it matter)? Do you feel something is being solidly communicated? Do you consider the work to be a success?

Due the last day of finals week. Email them to me at ssgoetz@wsu.edu
